How It Works

1. Check Your Vessel: Select a nonflammable, heat-safe vessel (like thick glass, ceramic, stone, or metal) that measures at least 4.5 to 5 inches wide.
2. Pour & Measure Depth: Pour your sand wax candle pearls into the container. Ensure you pour a minimum depth of 3 to 4 inches of wax, leaving at least 1 inch of loose pearls completely underneath the bottom of the wick so heat never transfers to your surface.
3. Insert Your Wick: Place your wick into the center of the pearls. Ensure it stands perfectly straight and is placed at least 2 inches away from the container walls. Leave only 1/4 inch of the wick exposed above the surface.
4. Light Mindfully: Light the wick and establish an initial burn pool. Never leave a burning flame unattended, and ensure it is placed completely out of reach of children, pets, drafts, and flammable objects.
5. Refresh Safely: After burning, allow the wax to cool and harden completely. Once cold, lift out the small hardened and cooled wax pool along with the used wick snippet, smooth the remaining loose pearls, insert a fresh wick, and begin again.

SANTARA® SAFETY GUIDE ⚠️

Because pearled sand wax allows you to turn almost any heat-safe object into a candle, this core safety standard ensures the heat stays centered, preventing your container from cracking or overheating:

• 4 = 4–5 Inches Wide Minimum: Use a heat-safe vessel approx. 4–5 inches wide or larger for a single wick. If the container is too narrow, the melt pool will reach the walls and overheat the vessel.
• 2 = 2 Inches of Clearance: Keep wicks at least 2 inches apart from each other and safely away from the container walls or nearby candle toppers.
• 1 = 1 Inch of Depth Below the Wick: Keep at least 1 inch (2.5cm) of loose sand wax pearls below the bottom of the wick. The wick should never touch the base of your vessel, preventing heat from transferring directly to surfaces.

💡 Extra Pro-Tips for Sand Wax Safety

• Vessel Materials: Stick strictly to thick glass, ceramic, metal, or stone. If you are using wooden vessels or dough bowls, you typically need to scale up to an "8-4-1" mindset (using extra-wide vessels) because wood requires much more buffer from heat.
• Wick Exposure: When inserting your wick, only leave about 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) sticking out above the surface. Leaving too much wick exposed creates a large, smoky flame that burns through the wax too quickly.

• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Always burn on a stable, heat-safe, nonflammable surface
• Keep away from flammable materials, drafts, and vents
• Keep wick away from the sides and bottom of the vessel
• Trim wick to ¼ inch before each use
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time
• Stop use when only ½ inch of wax remains
• Never use water to extinguish a candle flame
• Allow wax to cool completely before handling
